Hi Reader,

πŸŽ‰ Welcome to my 10 new subscribers! πŸŽ‰

There's a secret I've learned from seasoned parents I want to pass along. Those who have experienced multiple Septembers with overwhelmed kids, emptying their wallets on back to school stuff, and spent more hours in carpool line they they do at home.

Quit the extracurriculars in September.

Why?

  • Everyone is tired: prioritize rest and rejuvenation, especially for yourself
  • Last minute planning: the school will ask you to show up and send in more than you're expecting, give yourself the gift of flexibility
  • Let your kid be a kid: They are adjusting to a lot less play + downtime, give them time to be a kid

Now I want to hear from you!

What's New?

🍎 Words of Wisdom: Got advice for parents sending their baby to kinder this year? Leave a comment on my video First Day of Kindergarten and send it to a friend that needs some support.

πŸ–οΈ Secret Vacation: Last weekend my husband spotted a great deal on a hotel in Folly Beach. We packed up and car and had a spontaneous weekend by the shore. It was a funny moment because school was starting that Monday. When I was in the classroom, I never would have taken a trip so close to school starting, and instead would have spent the weekend working in my classroom and stressed out. I miss teaching a lot, but I will never miss the level of "Sunday Scaries" I had at the end of the summer. So, here's to year 3 out of the classroom. Sending lots of love to all my former students that started school this week!

Things I Love

πŸ‘» Spooky time: I love these spooky throw pillows! I got the happy ghost, but they also have a pumpkin and a spider. Perfect for simple easy storage Halloween decor.

🧊 Cool off: I tend to clench my jaw when I'm thinking and it causes tension headaches. A friend recommended an ice roller to me which has been a game changer. I keep it in the freezer and roll it on my jaw and cheeks. I thought it was a gimmick, but it really does help release tension and is a lot cheaper than a mouth guard.

Have a wonderful week! Don't forget to leave some advice here for families starting kindergarten

Hi Reader, πŸ’ Hi there! Thanks for giving a few moments of your busy day to this newsletter Did you know November 1 is the worst day of the year? Well- just to teachers.
