On Bended Knee by Boyz II Men

Hey Reader,

This newsletter is dedicated to Billy, my first grade crush (he wore a leather jacket to school and had a double decker pencil case, such a bad boy) and Andrew T. my second grade crush. Hope life is good for them, wherever they are 😂

Welcome to the Lazy-Smart Club

Where members know working hard doesn't always mean you get ahead.

Today's topic: Class Valentines. Work smarter, not harder.

💌 Hack #1: Write “My Friend” instead of individual names
Skip the class list scramble. Address valentines to “my friend” so your child can hand them out quickly. A lot of kids can't even read the names you spent hours writing. Plus it's good sight word practice.

✏️ Hack #2: Do a quick assembly line
Have your child sign all cards first, then add treats/stickers, then seal them. It turns a long task into a fast routine.

❤️ Hack #3: Skip the candy
Save a buck and the environment: collect some of the random party favors laying around your house to give out as valentines. As a former teacher, I can guarantee you kids are very excited to get these things instead of candy.
